Completely, and utterly lost. That's how I had felt after I had packed up my apartment, moved back home, and looked at my graduation robe hanging in my closet. I didn't know how to be happy without having my friends around me 24/7. I didn't know how to feel secure in myself, peaceful with just being, content in just living.
I am not saying that this three week trip gave me all the answers I was looking for. But it gave me a place to start. It gave me hope.
From Greece I learned how to be still. To experience and appreciate the beauty around me, and the people around me. Greece helped me realize that even though one chapter of my dharma had closed, the life of being a professional, and the joys that come along with that: traveling, collaborating, learning- constantly learning, even if it is not in a classroom setting, and finding new people, places, and purposes to be inspired by, that was turning into my new dharma. Greece taught me to be content with my life, learning to find bliss from within, and with this bliss comes inner strength.
From Spain, and from Gaudi, I learned the importance of determination, perseverance, and love. Spain taught me to be excited about my future. This country showed me the wonders that humans have been able to create when they collaborate, innovate, devote, and love. From Spain, I learned that my dharma will always first and foremost be to be a servant. A servant that gives to God, to my family, to my friends, to the world, in whatever my capabilities may be. Spain taught me to be excited to discover my services to the world as a devotee, as a professional, as an entrepreneur, as a writer, and whatever else inspires and motivates me.
This trip, gave me the peace, and happiness I needed after graduation. It also gave me the foundation for my inspirations, my purpose, and my dharma. I feel more whole now. Content in not knowing everything, but excited and determined to meet people and places that teach me, so that I can create and grow.
Thank you Europe for showing me that my dharma now is not of a student; but is a more multifaceted, intricate, dimensional cube full of different identities, purposes, and love. Thank you Europe for giving me my closure and my beginning. Thank you for being the first step to the start of the rest of my life.
